Private conversations don't always need to be permanent
Most messaging apps are designed to keep your conversations around. Gonchat takes a different approach: some conversations are meant to exist for a moment, be seen, and then clear themselves, closer to how a real conversation works than an ever-growing archive.
What is ephemeral messaging?
Ephemeral messaging is a way of communicating where messages or media are designed to be temporary rather than remain available indefinitely. Gonchat brings that idea to private conversations, with disappearing messages, photos, videos and voice notes. Read more about ephemeral messaging and private messaging.
Private messaging for creators
Not every conversation belongs in a public comment section. Gonchat gives creators a private space to talk with their audience through a single link. See Gonchat for creators.
Frequently asked questions
What is Gonchat?
Gonchat is a private messaging app where conversations and media are ephemeral: they are designed to clear themselves instead of building up an endless history.
What is ephemeral messaging?
Ephemeral messaging is communication designed to be temporary: messages and media have a short lifecycle rather than remaining in the conversation indefinitely.
Do Gonchat messages disappear?
Yes. Chats and content are designed to clear themselves automatically. As with any app, the person you are talking to could still screenshot or record the screen, so it reduces what stays by default rather than guaranteeing nothing can be saved.
Can I send disappearing photos and videos?
Yes. Photos, videos and voice notes can be shared in a conversation and are built to clear themselves after being seen.
Is Gonchat for creators?
Creators can use Gonchat to talk privately with their audience through a single link, instead of only a public comment section.
